When The New Year Brings In New Troubles, SERVPRO Is Here to Help

1/23/2022 (Permalink)

The University of Louisville suffered a massive water loss just before New Years Eve when a sprinkler head in a dormitory on the fourth floor froze and burst.  Water seeped down all four floors causing serious damage to all rooms and hallways.  The damage proceeded through multiple buildings that are connected.

SERVPRO of Floyd County was on scene quickly to begin the packout, demo, and dryout of the facility.  Our crews worked with a moving company to remove all of the students contents.  Once the rooms were clear of personal contents our crews worked to remove furniture, drywall, baseboard, ceiling tiles, and flooring so that the dryout process could begin.

With the help of a desiccant, dehumidifiers, and air movers the facility was able to start the drying process. Once the drying process is complete the facility will be turned over to the reconstruction crew.  Upon the completion of the put back SERVPRO will begin the post construction cleaning of all surfaces and duct work so that the facility is ready for the students to move back in.  We truly make it "Like it never even happened."
